Switched PBX to Avaya now see inconsistencies

We have two Windows 2000 servers with 2 D4PCIU cards in each. After our telecom department switched from a Nortel Option 81 PBX to an AVAYA 8700 we began experiencing intermittent problems with callins and callouts. We are constantly having to restart the servers to get the phone lines working. I was told that there should be no differences between the two PBX's but should I still run the PBX Expert utility? Also, Are there any know issues with the D4PCIU card and an AVAYA 8700 PBX? Thanks in advance for your replies. LMengersen
