Yes, it is possible to set relative withs (for instance {1, 2, 1}
if you want to be the middle column twice as wide as the first and
the last one), as well as absolute widths (in this case, you have
to express the width of the columns in 'user units' that by default
correspond with points).
I believe this is explained in the online tutorial. If not, you can
find more about it in the book, p165-166.
