How To Telnet In (Was: KnoppMyth, too good to be true?)

I'm trying to telnet into my system (because the screen is black
otherwise) and having a bit of a problem.
My logic may be wrong, but I think I can deduce the IP address thusly:
I have a firewall, a server, and one (Windows) machine running on my
network, and the would-be Myth machine.
I know the firewall is 192.168.0.1, the server is 192.168.0.3, and the
Windows machine is 192.168.0.4. Oh, yeah, and I have a NAS at 192.168.0.6.
I wrote a script to run through 192.168.0.* and got a response on
192.168.0.255, so that's gotta be the Myth machine, right?
Now, if I try to telnet to it, though, I get a "could not open a
connection" error. Port 23 is perhaps closed by default?
