frontend always sets ugly XV settings on Mac Mini

Hi folks,

when I start mythfrontend on my Mac Mini (Intel), the output looks ugly
because of wrong settings for contrast and brightness. I can set them
to sane values using xvattr, but the frontend will reset them at each
restart. Is there any way to avoid this?
