Gnome won't log out properly with mythfrontend running

This is my main desktop machine also, the frontend runs on the second monitor, I'd like to stick with Gnome. 

It's very odd though, only happens with myth.

Just a suggestion, try a lighter window manager like Fluxbox that
doesn't have features you don't need and consumes less resources.
