sipX dependencies and their availability on different Linux distributions

   1. Fedora Core

kingkonf: RPM available from ruby forge – not included in distribution

I need to have Peter how yum repos is built, it should be getting out to sipfoundry.org now though

3. SuSE (OpenSuSE 10.0)

kingkonf: Not known whether the FC RPM could work with SuSE

should work, RPM is architecture inspecific so wouldn't even have to rebuild it

4. Debian Sarge

kingkonf Different mechanism required to integrate into Debian config file management

Guy H, gave a detailed description of how Debian upgrades systems, and there might be something kingkonf can do, but it shouldn't be nec.

   5. Gentoo

kingkonf: Different mechanism required to integrate into Gentoo config file management

none required, infact kingkonf was inspired by the way Gentoo upgrades systems already.

BTW: RPM exists because there really isn't a good home for it. I could integrate it with commserverLib if there's a desire.
