sipX dependencies and their availability on different Linux distributions

Java ?
I read the Sun licensing rules last week and it appears that it is
permissible to redistribute it with an application now but I doubt very
much that it passes dfsg. So you'd have to use java_package to build
a .deb for it but I think distribution may be permissible now.
Ant ?
I tested installation of apache-ant on Sarge and apt-get wanted to
install kaffe etc (which I doubted would work) ... so I just unpacked
the apache-ant distribution and set the right environment variable.
Worked fine.
