database server seeing blank user name

Got me unless MS is being it's usual cryptic self with the error 
messages.  Check the docs for your jdbc driver to be sure you've put in 
the url and other parameters correctly.  Also check the logs on the MS 
SQL server for any helpful hints on that end.
