Managing custom changes through Trac upgrades

I just use a SVN checkout. It happily updates to whatever is newest
(trunk for me, but the same would obviously work for 0.9-stable, if
that's your cup of tea) and alerts you to any conflicts arising from
the update, which you can subsequently easily fix.
