That may be the problem. How did you solve that?

I tried either gradio or gnome radio (which ever was more  recent) and it
required some  gnome files that I didn't have. And I had no intention on
install  Gnome.

I have since been able to compile an xmms pradio plugin, had to download
xmms just for that.

There was a request for a radio app usable if gnome only is installed
