Hi Darren, patch for conversion to ir-common now looks very good. It
could be applied but the only reason is dependency on other changes. I
am just wondering, what's the problem with repeat?

About second part of your changes I have the following question: is
there any reason to use perl? Why not just use plain C code as we was
doing before? It will simplify makefile process that is why I am asking.
