I made a quick&dirty patch for 2.6.15.2 cx88-input.c and ir-common.c that
does essentially the same as Darren's patch does for budget-ci: it maps
RC5 frames directly to key-press or key-repeat events.  With that patch,
menu navigation in VDR becomes much more accurate and responsive than before.

Indeed.  If the kernel build doesn't depend on $(PERL) already, it's probably
easiest to distribute the source, the generator and the generated source.
Then those who wish to modify the source can easily do it.
