Documentation for v4l

Hi,

I look for documentation for v4l. But I can't find it. I found
http://v4l2spec.bytesex.org, but this is for v4l2. There is also a link for
v4l, but this documentation is very rare. I know, v4l is deprecated, but the
module (spca5xx) for my webcam is written for v4l, not for v4l2.
I will write a small program to capture video from it, but without
documentation about v4l, this is a little bit difficult. 

So, is there a detailed documentation for v4l?? It should be like the
documentation for v4l2.
