Hi,
when i try to get sounds over pci bus (sox -r 32000 -sw -t ossdsp /dev/dsp1 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp) it works fine, but its not syncron, it starts with ca. 1/2 sec delay and everytime i zapp around the delay increase.
The reason for your problem is that the capture card and the sound card have independent timebases and can't be synchronized. It looks like your sound card runs a bit slower which causes the increasing delay. We still need a low latency saple rate converter that replaces the job of sox.
The delay (it's several tenths of seconds) is there straight from the start. I can run the sox pipe and the analog loopback at the same time.
The analog is a hair early (because it goes straight out and video gets deinterlaced and filtered), but digital sound is WAY late.
Yes, of corse is there some delay right from the beginning due to the buffers. I didn't want to put this in question.
What we actually need is the TV frontend applications to process BOTH the sound AND the image.
Agreed, since the video needs to be delayed...
