I was able to get audio working with MythTV by
installing xawtv and then using the command:
v4lctl volume mute off
then when I opened mythfrontend audio worked great.

I've installed mercurial, but I'm new to Linux and I'm
really not sure what all this is for. I'm assuming
that I'm wrong, but from what I've seen, the only
thing that I know mercurial is used for is to get
things like v4l-dvb. I'm sure that as time goes on
and I get more comfortable with Linux I'll learn more
about it and have a better idea what some of the
different programs are used for.

Thank you for all your help. I'd been trying to get
the audio working on this machine for about 2 weeks
and am extremely happy to be done with that part of
it. So, now I'm onto the next step of setting up the
remote control, which hopefully won't be as big a
problem.

Again thanks,
Noel Smith
