Hello, im a begginer with v4l.

I need to code a program for authenticate users via facial recognition with a webcam.

For the authentication and facial recognition i already have a solution, my big problem is how to work with v4l to just get some frames from the webcam. No streaming, nothing complicated, just get some frames and put in BMP format.

I searched the web and i found just the API documentation, and for a begginer like me, i think it is very confusing.

Soo..im writing into this mailing list to ask you if you have any links , documentation, howtos, tuturials, or maybe some tips that can help me coding this.
