Hmm, the audio mode is not initialized to a good default by
msp3400. Switching the mode to stereo will work fine for you, it's just 
back to mono each time you boot. I see it is fixed for 2.6.17.

I'll see if I can get this in the next 2.6.16.X release, no guarantees 
though.
