Hi,
I have Miro PCTV pro (card=11) with msp3400 module. I use xawtv in grabdisplay mode (overlay is buggy on my mobo) on 2.6.15.6 xwatv shows that work in stereo when I switch to 2.6.16 xawtv shows only mono :-(. I run msp3400 in debug=3 and I mean that stereo is working. Carriers are proper detected, but why xawtv now doesn't show correct info ?
Hmm, the audio mode is not initialized to a good default by msp3400. Switching the mode to stereo will work fine for you, it's just back to mono each time you boot. I see it is fixed for 2.6.17.
I'll see if I can get this in the next 2.6.16.X release, no guarantees though.
Thanks for pointing this out! I'm to blame for it too :-(
Scratch this. I can't reproduce this. If I choose a channel in my WinTV card it will switch to the correct mono/stereo/lang1 string after some 5 seconds.
What MSP3400 version do you have? (shown in the kernel log)
msp3400 debug 1-0040: setmode: 3 msp3400 debug 1-0040: FM setstereo: 0
