The log level of the debug messages is quite low and might not be going into
your logs, which is why I suggested using dmesg to check for output.
Everything else looks ok, try;
watch -n 1 "dmesg | tail -n 20"
instead of looking at the message log.

Yeah, I have input support built into my kernel rather then as a module.
