Wes,

Seems as if you had accidentally written to me in private. (cc's re-added)

My apologies. I checked for my first reply in the thread (gmail) and it was going to the list. You might wish to check whether or not your email client hoses up headers.

Upgrading to SuSE 10.1 will not be enough. As I stated in my previous

Right, but Suse 9.3 (updated to current) runs kernel 2.6.11.4-21.11-default (as listed by uname -a).

email, you will also have to install the v4l-dvb modules from the
mercurial repository in order to add support for your Kworld Blackbird
card. This will require that you have a vanilla kernel 2.6.12 or later
installed. SuSE patches their kernels heavily, and they do not play
nice with external kernel modules. Surely there is a way to do it, but
you may run into trouble.

So Suse 10.1 would likely not be a good choice for a "quick and easy" path, correct? Any comments on Gentoo? I've been looking for a good excuse to try it out. I think I may get that install started tonight and see what happens...

Thanks,
Wes

As far as your system requirements, 1.6 GHz Duron 512 M ram is not a
bad system... A mythtv backend should be able to run fine on a machine
like that, although there are some other solutions available as well.

Good Luck,

Michael
