I am reading the V4l2 draft to set spca5xx/gspca to v4l2.
when an apps know nothing about a webcam it ask the driver to get a minimal
capabilities.
For example i need to know if the webcam know :
palette, heigh, width what is the minimal and maximal frame rate.
I have find VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT (page 79 draft 0.12 ) but unfortunatelly that did
not allow these parameters.
Is there a way instead of trial an error with VIDIOC_TRY_FMT, to get a list
of available hardware setting ?
If not is there possible to extand struct v4l2_fmtdesc to get these
parameters from VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT ?
Maybe it is webcam specific, but be sure that will help apps developpement. At
the moment a userspace apps have to play "poker" with the device :)
Best regards
