kworld mce 200 deluxe install

I'm now running Gentoo, kernel 2.6.16-gentoo-r7.  And, I've tried
placing v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw in both /lib/firmware and
/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware.  Anyone have any suggestions?

A had the same problem once and it did not go away until a rebooted the machine.
(Gentoo with the same kernel)
I assume that you emerged hotplug.
