Video streaming with embedded board

I have to confess that I just entered in the linux world three months
ago, but that has been an excellent experience, I have discovered
interesting things.

Now I'm working on a project and I really need your help. I'm working
with a board from Cirrus (EDB9301) in which I have mounted a linux
2.6.8.1 kernel, and after some work I have gotten that the kernel
detects my camera.
Now, I have to send the video from the webcam over the network and see
that video in any PC connected to the same network. But I really don't
know where to begin to do that; I have read that with v4l APIs I could
do something but I haven't found how.

I need a solution that doesn't imply to install to much new software
in the board because I have limited resouces and mounting software on
the board is not really easy for me.

I would really appreciate your help and ideas. Thanks.

Bye.
