HVR-1300, cx88-blackbird and MythTV

I have a Hauppauge HVR1300 working on a 64-bit System using Suse 10.2
and Kernel 2.6.19.1 . I normally use Xine for watching TV, which is
working just fine.
The HVR1300 card was my reason to upgrade the kernel, as I got none of
the earlier kernels to work with this card for me - even compiling ivtv
and v4l drivers separately was no way.
Maybe the following is a bit helpful to some of you, although I don't
know much about MyThTV. I hope this is the right place to mention the
following nevertheless.
Using Kernel 2.6.19.1, the HVR1300 was initialized correctly from the
beginning (i.e. considering the kernel - getting it from kernel.org,
make xconfig -> save .config, make, make install etc not altering any of
the defaults). It generates devices :

/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/net0
lsmod |grep cx says:

As you can see, blackbird frontend is at work as well as cx8800. Using
the mentioned devices, I'm able to watch TV depending on the quality of
DVB input, which ist not too good in my area.
Does anyone know about the 2.6.20 kernel series?
For what I understand from http://lwn.net/Articles/212535/
CX88-blackbird is not probed anymore by intent.
As far as I've been fiddling around with 2.6.20, this is correct - as
none of the devices in /dev/dvb are made up now, and thus no more Xine
TV for me at least. I'd appreciate greatly any ideas about what to care
for configuring kernel 2.6.20 for the HVR1300.
I hope this is not the completely wrong place to ask this - if it is,
please don't hestitate to tell me where else to go. As this Kernel is
quite new, I didn't find anything on the web, and the readme files
coming with it may be in need of some updating as well. At least I
didn't see anything related directly to this topic there, too.
Kind regards,
Michael
