ATI Theatre

Hi, Matt

I cc'ed the V4L list, as I'm sure some might be interested.

In regards to the Q & A session with ATI -- it apparently never got off
the ground. See:

Yes, unfortunately, you're out of luck.

Well, it certainly doesn't hurt emailing AMD/ATI and inquiring with them
about direct support for the Theater chips (550 & 650) or in providing
assistance (i.e. documentation) towards the development of such drivers.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe there is some ATI reps who frequent the
Rage3D forums ... so maybe a posting there could help.

Failing that, maybe someone could try and pick up with the former idea
of a Q & A with them .... obviously this helps if you have
representation from an online presence with a readership of some sort of
critical mass. [ I don't think the v4l-dvb mailing lists would count ;)
]. Putting the questions to them this way might net a better answer
then a private email communication or random forum post.

Another idea might be to start up a campaign/petition -- if you can get
enough people , who knows, maybe it would sway their interest ... or at
least get them to provide some sort of indication on the matter.

For development of support for the card itself, probably on the dvb
mailing list would be the more appropriate place, unless it's a analog
specific aspect or question, in which case the v4l list would be
appropriate. In any regard, that would presuppose that there is some
sort of development occurring....which just isn't the case (AFAIK)
