Hmm, I'll have to look at that more closely tomorrow. I wasn't aware that the dvb API had support for decoding.
Are there any existing v4l2 drivers using parts of the dvb API? I'm not certain how well they mix.
Currently, the AV7110 uses some parts of V4L2 for the analog stuff. These were based on the old Siemens cards, later on they were manufactured by a plethora of vendors (Technotrend, Hauppauge, Galaxis and many others ) making it very popular. These cards are popularly knowns as the AV7110 based Full Fledged (FF) cards.
I think some newer devices also will be based on this API, the Decypher [1] H.264 decoders from Micronas. Still work is going on with that device, AFAIK.
