Security for a home IP phone

There are several items to consider with your particular case...

1. Did the account setup permit you to create username and strong passwords, and did you create a robust password (alpha-numeric+special characters, etc), or was it setup for you? This applies to the account question
2. Is it DSL, cable, wireless, or dedicated circuit (This goes to the recording and account questions)?
3. Do you have access to an encrypted account management web site or is it http? This also applies to the account question

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

Hi,
I use a grandstream connected to a router. The provider is an israeli company. So far, nothing special.
My concern as a beginner is to know what the chances are that the account would be hijacked. Also, as a case study, how can someone maliciously record the data and restore it back to audio? That has been a question of several customers which I've never been able to answer.
Thank you for you help.
