To qualify my last comment: with short URLS on or off, and without mod rewrite
changes, if the site is in a subdirectory this patch does not work.

If will work if you also set the baseURI (eg add the subdirectory name here
/somedir). However, by default xaraya should work without setting this, as it
has done until now for short URLS on or off.  This patch would change that logic.
