I was waiting to push to Monotone until I heard from you if my changes worked. 
Please note that I attached a replacement modules/bible/xarinit.php for you to test.

However, because more than two weeks passed without a response from you, I
assumed my changes worked and pushed them to Monotone.  Please try the current
version.  If it still doesn't work, you're welcome to re-open this bug and
report what happened.
