Hi, I'm creating an info resource of recorded audio content for tourists visiting Hong Kong.
We find that u-Law 11 kHz voice files sound much better than 8Bit11kHz wav files or 8kHz vox files (simply played via soundcard, not through dialogic).
This page would suggest it is possible to have all of our audio files played in a uLaw format: http://resource.intel.com/telecom/support/documentation/learnabout/documents/tapi/taprefnt/TAPREFNTWaveform_Data_Formats_Directly_S.htm
Does anyone have practical experience having deployed an application where all voice prompts/recorded content were in uLaw format? Is 11kHz indeed possible?
Any thoughts/advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers, Stefan
