I would serialize per device (i.e. per DSP).
MSIs have had serialization problems since
long ago (DOS driver times :).
Since each DSP is managed independently,
the queue the article is referring to should be
DSP oriented...
On the other hand, you should have no real
impact if you were to serialize per subsystem
(i.e. ALL dcb activity).

question: is this a ISDN PRI system. I have seen this
when various T1 calls where made at initialization with
the ISDN firmware loaded. Solution. Remove the
calls. In every case they where not needed for
the ISDN functionality.

More info if you system is similiar. Don't know if it is.
