T1 ESF RBS: bad mix

FYI
I've just discovered (the hard way, if there is such thing) that it is not a good idea to use robbed bit signalling with ESF framing, at least in some cases.

At least some boards (D/240SC-T1) with some drivers (SR5.1 under linux) misbehave with such setup. The end result is very strange, where the connected party (a Definity G3) ignores the bit signalling by the D/240, so only immediate incoming calls work (from the point of view of the D/240).

Changing to D4 fixes the issue.

It sounds to me like the D/240 is not properly calculating the CRC, and not paying attention to bad CRCs on input because D/240 to D/240 links work fine, and the D/240 is able to "read" the G3 driven link w/o problems. Had I a protocol analyzer, I would be able to verify this...

Hope this helps someone. This post would surely have helped me a couple of month ago.
